The Oasis was opened September 2002. It was a vision first seen by Marge Smith, Mary’s mom.
Founder & Chief Spiritual Officer of Yoga Oasis- Reverend Mary Grace
Rev. Mary Grace was brought to this earth on the day of the Spiritual Warrior. Mary Grace, MG as she is called, has spent her earlier years as an avid & competitive equestrian. Through horsemanship training she about the discipline of extensive daily training. From an early age, she practiced the mental & spiritual training style of choosing to believe she would win the trophy before her events. In essence, with her competitive training she has discovered that her positive thinking has brought her positive results.
After traveling the World and studying many of the worlds religions, she choose to attend the grueling 9 week extensive course at Bikram’s World Headquaters on Wilshire Blvd, Beverly Hills in 2000.
During that 9 week training she was certified by Bikram to teach Bikram’s Beginners Yoga program. In addition to continuing her studies within her daily Mysore style Ashtanga practice, she has trained with many of today’s teachers including: Bikram Choudhury, Baron Baptiste, David Swenson, Richard Freeman, Lino Miele, Brian Kest, Yoga Bhajan, Sri Dharma Mittra and countless others. With deep gratitude she received the blessing & the true Shaktipat from yoga master Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. It was in their first meeting Guruji (Jois) asked Mary to come to Mysore and study the Intermediate (Second series) of Ashtanga yoga. During her stay in Mysore she also studied pranayama & Ayurvedic massage which she combines with Thai massage and utilizes these tools while teaching classes. She also received the holy name Sat Darshan Kaur form the late kundalini yoga master Yogi Bhajan.
Her classes are of course Hot, sweaty and intense, but MG always gives options for all levels of experience. Before yoga, Mary studied and became a Certified Nutritionist, herbalist, a Reiki healer, and is Thailand trained in Thai Massage. She is also a brand Ambassador for Lululemon clothing company. She splits her time between her two studios, Yoga Oasis on Long Island & Maui Hot Yoga in Hawaii.
Also teaching at Yoga Oasis is Reverend James Onnikian
James Onnikian is a former World Kickboxing Champion and Golden Gloves boxing Champion.
At 5 years old, James found his first mentor Bruce Lee on the television and has always searched to become a master of himself. Through the study of martial arts, James has been deeply connected to his mind, body & spirit. He has practiced the science and lifestyle of Yoga and is a Yogi. James currently conducts yoga Teacher Trainings and owns and operates Maui Hot Yoga and Kickboxing in Hawaii, Yoga Oasis in Woodbury NY, along with partner Mary Grace.
In addition James also has extensive knowledge in Natural nutrition including MacroBiotic healing, The Raw & living foods diet, the benefits of fasting for longevity and his life’s knowledge of diet and performance as a Professional athlete.
James also has studied in Thailand in the art of Thai Massage in Wat Po said to be the oldest school in the world. James met his current teacher Dr. Bill Akpinar in 2007 and has since been an apprentice practicing natural and integrative healing and other healing modalities. James mission and DUTY is to preserve the ancient wisdom of Yoga, martial arts and merge the modern discoveries of medical science and brings the fighting spirit into the healing spirit, James hopes to benefit the well being of mankind for years to come.

Janet Seals loves yoga and considers the opportunity to share the physical and spiritual benefits of Yoga a blessing. Janet believes Vinyasa is a moving meditation: the marriage of breath and movement, and through that practice one can gain an inner knowledge of oneself leading to enlightenment. She has been practicing yoga for nine years and completed her 200 hour Hot Yoga Teacher Training in the summer of 2013. She is a dedicated Ashtanga yoga practitioner and a triathlete. When Janet is not on her mat or teaching a vigorous Vinyasa class, you will find her running a commercial window company. She is also the mother of three wonderful children.
Liz been teaching fitness since 1985. Practicing yoga since 2005. SMART certified in 1998 (scientific management of anatomical response training)AFFA certified, RYT 200hr since 5/19/10. Liz brings a strong yet playful spirit to her classes. Expect an intense vinyasa class with a strong focus on developing lasting core strength.Liz is a true athlete. She has been teaching fitness for over 20 years at Fitness Incentive in Babylon Village. She really knows how to kick your butt into shape. Liz started practicing yoga at Yoga Oasis in 2003 with her good friend Gina. They both practiced Ashtanga yoga primary series with Mary Grace every day for many years. Liz has a fitness background and has been teaching fitness for over 20 years, so she really knows her stuff. She has completed a 200 hr training and completed her 500 hr E-RYT training at Yoga Oasis with Mary Grace & James Onnikian. Liz is such a joy, shes so much fun and smiles so wide while she destroys your abs during her abs & flow classes. Students just love her energy and they are all getting amazing results in their bodies from taking her classes. We are very fortunate to have her with us at Yoga Oasis. Try her class, your abs will never be the same! Liz’s classes are intense, powerful and a lot of fun. She has a wonderful way of smiling as she gets you to really push yourself beyond what you expected and you will feel better then ever. Liz spearheads the early morning yoga program at Yoga Oasis. Constance has been practicing yoga for over twenty-five years including fourteen years of Ashtanga Yoga, Vinyasa and Hot Yoga. She has learned from the best and all over the world. Her previous marketing profession took her to many wonderful cities worldwide such as London, Shanghai, Amsterdam and Dubai and she frequently took advantage of her downtime to explore all different styles of yoga with many different cultures. Since there is no place like home, she completed her 200 hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Training at Yoga Oasis on Long Island, NY.
Constance is always active, is an avid runner/triathlete and understands the importance of yoga practice for everyone including the multi-sport and athlete body with a busy schedule. She completed her first Ironman in Lake Placid, NY the summer of 2014 and her second in Chattanooga TN this year. She is currently an Organic Valley Fuel and Balance Protein Shake ambassador, Core Water Ambasssador and Lululemon Athletica Huntington, NY Run Club Leader, previously an ambassador for Sony Electronics and BrickWell Multisport. She is also a Marketing and Social Outreach Professional. Constance graduated from Hofstra University with a B.S. in Health Education, pursued M.S. in Nutrition at New York University and practiced for many years as a Clinical Dietitian/Nutrition Consultant.
